  • Israel-Iran Conflict: The visit occurred just before a major escalation in the Middle East. US and Israeli military strikes on Iran began less than 48 hours after PM Modi's departure. In a follow-up call on March 1, PM Modi expressed "grave concern" and called for an "early cessation of hostilities".
  • Support for Israel: During his speech, PM Modi condemned the October 7, 2023, attacks as "barbaric" and stated that "India stands with Israel, firmly, with full conviction".
