Controversy in NCERT Class 8 Social Science Chapter

In February 2026, a major controversy emerged regarding the  NCERT Class 8 Social Science textbook, specifically a new chapter titled  " The Role of the Judiciary in Our Society ."   The Controversy The  Supreme Court of India  took  suo motu cognisance  (action on its own) of the textbook's content, which explicitly discussed  " corruption in the judiciary "  as a significant challenge.
